"Off to Work She Should Go"

Our friend Patricia just sent me this link -- Click here for a great Op-Ed in the New York Times today titled "Off to Work She Should Go."

Hmmm, that is interesting... Beloved and I have had the same conversation Re; taxes that she talks about in the article.

We consider Beloved to have a true career and I mostly have a job. I'm not looking for major advancement or promotion. So we consider his income our primary livlihood.

Adding our incomes together means we pay *way* more in taxes.

I'm not going to quit my job, because I love it, and working outside the home is the right choice for me and my family right now.

But it's depressing to realize that after taxes and paying for daycare, our take-home income is not much more than it would be if I didn't work at all.

(Your boys, as always, are so sweet.)
