Out at the pool today the boys were both sitting on my lap. They told me that they were pretending that I was a sea urchin. They'd delicately touch me -- ever so slightly. Then they'd dramatically jolt and jump and shout out wildly: "Oh no! A sea urchin! I touched it! It is soooo owie!!!" Etc. I was playing along. When I'd say, "I'm a sea urchin!" they'd both wriggle with delight: "Yes! Yes! Mama is a sea urchin! Watch out! Don't touch her! May be owies!!!!!!!" Etc. In Virgin Gorda we had seen red sea urchins and black sea urchins. I said, "I'm a sea urchin! I'm a black sea urchin!" They both immediately stopped everything. Kyle looked at me quizzically. Owen then titled his head, and said: "No, you're white." I said, "Oh? O.k., I'm a white sea urchin???" Kyle nodded. Owen said, "Yes, mama, you're a white one. I'm black." And we proceeded with the game.

Isn't is fascinating how this comes up in a game and then the game goes on? It lets you know a little of what is going through their minds. Glad you are recording it!
Sea Urchins suck! From someone who has stepped on more than one of the coast of Haiti and even had one infect, tell your boys they are BIG owies!!! lol
Great imaginations, eh?? :)
