Another from the "Stuff-You-Probably-Shouldn't-Let-Your-Four-Year-Olds-Do" File

Our deck is high, the deck rail is even higher, with a many-foot-drop off the side that would surely seriously injure someone if he or she were to fall from it. When I told him to get down he said, pleadingly, "But Mom, I'm a red headed woodpecker!!!"

Yeah, I totally get it. Mal was licking the side of the tub and when I gasped and pulled her back in horror, she responded, "I kitty-cat Mama". sheesh.

There is a fine line between letting them discover and managing my own fears. I struggle with it everyday. Oh how we have to be so careful not to limit their amazing "discovery capacity." I loved this post.

Oh, I can only imagine how often your heart must fall to the floor when you see things like this happen before your eyes. And to think, it's probably just going to get worse (scarier!!)...ahh to be the mother of boys!!!
