This summer has been so good for Owen. Before this summer he couldn't sit still for even a minute. He was all over the place all of the time. Now, he is only all over the place most of the time. He has a contentment and calm about himself now that we haven't seen in the past. Today, during lunch, he sat still for a long stretch of time, enamored with this little bug that was flying around him. The bug kept landing on his hand and he'd calmly, gently, and sweetly talk to it "Hi Little Bug! Hello! I'm so happy to see you Little Bug!" and so on. I was so struck by how much my boy Ow Bo has grown during this wonderful-summer-of-his.
This summer has been so good for Kyle. Before this summer he could hardly play alone. He relied on interaction with others all of the time. Now, he relies on interaction with others most of the time, but plays by himself very well for stretches of time almost every day. Kyle has developed so much independence this summer. He is so self-confident and very rarely expresses emotional neediness now. Today, after he was done with his lunch, he played by himself on the deck while the rest of us finished. I was so struck by how much my boy Ky Ky has grown during this wonderful-summer-of-his.

these boys make me smile ear to ear
The love and joy you feel for them is so apparent. They are going to love reading this stuff when they're older! I am printing my entries off (in case cyber space ends up eating the blog) to give to MalĂa when she is 18. :) well, maybe not ALL the entries!!! lol
I love your end-of-summer report card! Your boys--they are something else!
My little Abbey was the same way! She needed constant interaction with others. She had to be touching or sitting on someone at all times. She has gotten a little bit better....
BTW --- be jealous--- Cindy and I (Ed too) had a blast! I will be posting the good time fotos and tales of our trip later tonight. You must come with us the next time. Oh, yeah there will be a next time.......too fun!
