Hi Heather,
I found your blog through salsa in china....
congratulations on your beautiful daughter and handsome sons.
Out of the mouths of babes huh?
We adopted twins girls in a domestic adoption but I initally wanted to adopt from Haiti. We've not completely ruled it out yet.
I love your post about endless summer below. Those days as a child were good ones. It's a good feeling when you can give those kind of days to your children too. I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin.
Take care and God Bless you and your family.

I've been reading your lovely and loving blog off and on for awhile now, and I never fail to be moved by the great love, affection, joy and happiness that is always so clear in the faces of all members of the wonderful Party of 5. More personally, as a biracial 24 year old woman who grew up asking my parents a lot of questions about race, hair, why I look different from Mommy/Daddy/Grandma, etc (and received honest and perfect answers that allowed me to grow into a confident and happy adult), I love the intelligent, wise and so, SO right on ways that you discuss race and other potentially 'prickly' issues with your beautiful boys. However, what has prompted me to finally post a comment is this photo of Heather reading 'Ping' to the kids! This was one of my favorite, favorite, favorite books as a child; in fact, its tattered, very well-loved remains are still on my parents' bookshelf to this day! I'm so glad to see it's still in circulation and still bringing joy to children everywhere. Sorry to ramble on, but apparently 'Ping' really struck a chord! Keep up the wonderful, inspirational blog, and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
