Desperate Need to Expedite Haitian Adoptions

URGENT NEED ---- PLEASE DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO HELP EXPEDITE HAITIAN ADOPTIONS. There are many families in the U.S. who had already begun the adoption process of Haitian orphans. The situation was desperate to begin with, and now, after the earthquake, more than ever.

Here is something you can do, in less than five minutes, to help:

Please email your state senator to allow adoptive families who had already begun the process and been matched with a child/children to bring their Haitian children home immediately. Go to this site (click here or copy and paste the full link below), scroll to your state. You'll see links to your Senator. Go to their web page to urge them to help expedite Haitian adoptions.

Great idea, Heather. I contacted both of my Senators.

Did you order t-shirts for yourself and Braydon as well as the kids? If not, I will.

Hi Heather,

I am emailing my 2 Rhode Island senators now. I found a form letter on the Facebook page you joined and just copy/paste. That made it much easier for me.

Thank you for alerting me to this cause.

Hi,
Please note that similar initiatives are taken by parents from other countries such as Canada and France. I am in France and we are going to issue tonight a letter to our President and Minister for Foreign affairs, signed by MORE THAN 1000 PEOPLE, urging them to expedite the procedure for at least childreen which have identified to a precise adopting family. I suggest we coordinate all our efforts, in particular from US, Canada and France, countries which seem to lead and coordinate the assistance to Haiti. Thanks.

Thanks Heather. I just emailed my state senators. I cannot imagine being separated from my child at such a time as this.

I emailed my senators and will post a request that people do the same on my blog and Facebook account. Thank you for the suggestion of a way to act.

Done! I just emailed both California Senators. As the grandmom of two children adpopted from Ethiopia I cannot begin to imagine what the families are going through. Thanks for sharing this idea! (Peep-eye's grandmother)

I am in MI advocating for humanitarian visas for ALL Haitian orphans matched with waiting US families. I have a connection to a newspaper in the Charlotte NC area and was wondering if a family from that area would be willing to be interviewed. We have to keep talking. We have to keep pushing. We can not let this become yesterday's news story.
Thank you.
